I've grown tired of hating on the inevitable.

The metaverse, aka Zuckerberg's digital playground will be slowly become the new hang out spot for the future.

I don't know how they're going to do it, but millions of people, if not billions, will flock to their headsets and escape from the real world.

I mean, we already escape it through our doom scrolling.

Maybe the VR world might do some good.

If we think of it from a larger standpoint, people will stop polluting the air so much because they'll stay indoors.

There won't be a need to leave anywhere expect to get essentials, but delivery services have become the norm in our current world.

Maybe, we'll stop harming each other in real life, lowering the crime rate. Instead, we take our frustrations out on our characters instead, without harming the person controlling the avatar.

Maybe we'll step out take a break from the digital world... or we'll just take the head set with us to the local park.

Whatever it maybe, there is no point on trying to fight this.

Technology and humanity will merge into one.

Maybe for the better.

Anyways, I'll be looking more into the metaverse as time goes on, but for now I decided to be a lazy bastard and I'm attaching my Medium post/poem about the Metaverse here on the site.

I hope you enjoy/cry/laugh at my sadness.

The Metaverse Will Win.

I can’t express in words how much I despise the Metaverse.

From the horrendous graphics that make early Sims games look glorious, to the low user count, and the fact that $177 Billion was spent to make this monstrosity become a reality, I can’t help but hate the so-called hang out spot of the future.

Still, knowing how ridiculous that claim sounds, especially because access to this universe via cumbersome headsets give users gnarly headaches after only a few minutes of play, I can only remain a hater.

Who has the balls to undertake such a massive and very public risk; to build a technological utopia for all us mortals to prance around and buy digital Polo sweaters or Air Jordans for our avatar?

Zuck does.

Who am I to criticize Mark’s plan to scale an open world and his attempt to render graphics in real time, when I can barely code a website, or type about how afraid I was to fail since I was younger?

If Zuck’s project nosedives, this might be the final nail in the coffin for Meta’s reign as a social media giant. Maybe Tom and MySpace can come back tenfold (fingers crossed).

If he wins, then we all might be fucked, but it’s not like the technological onslaught we’re facing now wasn’t already ruining us, thanks to the people who post the worst and most cringe acts of humanity, the FOMO companies and influencers create, and the rapid speed of the world’s movement.

Still, I got to give the Zuckster credit for the amount of hype, engineering, and investors he’s pulled together for this audacious project.

I was inspired to ask OpenAI to write a poem about the inevitable takeover of the metaverse.

Here it is, and I must say, I think I want to turn it into a song.

Write a poem about the metaverse taking over

Verse 1:

The metaverse has come to stay

It’s looming over us today

It’s taken over like a thief in the night

It’s no longer a digital delight

Verse 2:

It’s the new frontier of reality

Where the virtual and physical are one

Where the laws of the physical world no longer apply

And the virtual world has begun

Verse 3:

It’s the realm of unlimited possibilities

Where you can be whoever you want to be

Where you can create anything, you can imagine

And explore a world that’s infinite and free

Verse 4:

It’s the dawn of a new age

Where the boundaries of reality are blurred

Where the virtual world has taken over

And everyone has a part to play in this new world

Verse 5:

So come join the metaverse today

Explore its wonders in your own way

Discover its secrets and its surprises

And make the most of its open world of possibilities.
